how it started
our story
Crafts by Carly began in 2021 as a small passion project and a creative way to help supplement tuition costs. What started with vinyl decals on mason jars and wine glasses quickly grew into something much bigger than Carly ever imagined. Cups and ornaments followed — made late at night and in between classes, purely out of a love for creating meaningful, personalized items.
Curiosity (and a few YouTube tutorials) led to early experiments with etching insulated mugs using stencils and paint thinner to achieve an engraved look. While it worked, it quickly became clear that the process wouldn’t support the growing demand. That turning point sparked the next chapter.
Seeing the potential, Isaac purchased a small hobby laser and taught himself how to engrave. What began as a learning experiment soon evolved — first one laser, then two, and eventually a high-performance industrial engraver. Each step brought more precision, creativity, and capacity to bring ideas to life.
Crafts by Carly first built its name engraving popular drinkware brands. Over time, that experience evolved into the creation of a carefully curated, original drinkware line designed for all occasions — gifts, milestones, celebrations, and everyday use. Every design is created in-house, with quality and longevity at the heart of everything we do.
Today, Crafts by Carly is proudly based in Port Coquitlam, serving customers who value craftsmanship, originality, and a personal touch. What began as a small side hustle has grown into a family run business rooted in creativity, problem solving, and a genuine love for making something special. Every piece we engrave carries a bit of that journey – from humble beginnings to the workshop it has become today.

Carly is the founder and co-owner of Crafts by Carly, leading all creative design, marketing, and product development. Known for her original designs and attention to detail, she has built a brand rooted in quality and intention. Outside of the workshop, Carly also works as a Registered Clinical Counsellor, supporting children, youth, and families in the community. She brings care, intention, and a people-first mindset to everything she does.

Isaac leads all aspects of laser engraving, product sourcing, and quality control, ensuring every design is brought to life exactly as intended. With a focus on precision and process, he keeps the workshop running smoothly while continually refining how ideas are translated into finished pieces. He takes pride in making sure every piece feels just as good in hand as it does on screen.
inventory & market support
Madison
Madison oversees inventory management, packing, and pricing orders, supporting the behind-the-scenes operations that keep everything organized and efficient. She also assists at markets, helping ensure each event and order feels seamless for both the team and customers. She brings a steady, thoughtful presence to everything from packing orders to market days.
